Aloha Estates' Neighborhood Watch held its' first official meeting with coordinators Marianne W. and Hawaii County Police Officer Bryson Miyose on Saturday, May 28 at Na Wai Ola PCS cafeteria in Mountain View. The interested crowd heard about the Neighborhood Watch's purpose and learned ways to reduce crime by being the "eyes and ears" of the community. Large metal signs will be placed at strategic intervals along Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa Drives and will act as a visual "first line of defense" to thwart criminal activity from occurring in the neighborhood. We will email the community once more information is forwarded. As always, never hesitate to call 911 if you hear gun shots or see suspicious cars or people lurking around.
